Jo is an amazing personal trainer, and fantastic at her job. She’s inspirational, thoughtful, motivational, and a pleasure to be around (even when she’s making you do all those squats…). Jokes aside, She’s the best PT I’ve had, she does fantastic fitness pilates classes, pad work (boxing), 1-2-1 sessions, small group sessions – you name it – she can probably do it! Can’t recommend highly enough
Jo is fantastic – I’ve been training with her for about eight months and she really makes exercise fun – I never would’ve thought I’d enjoy going to the gym like I do! I’ve seen some real differences too which has been great!
ABOUT WILLING SPIRIT EXERCISE
My name is Jo Asplin and I am the founder of Willing Spirit Exercise. A qualified NVQ Diploma Level 3 Personal Trainer, Level 3 Exercise Referral Instructor, Level 3 in Ante and Postnatal Exercise, Level 4 Certificate In Physical Activity and Weight Management for Obese and Diabetic Clients, Level 2 Children’s Fitness Instructor and qualified Fitness Pilates Instructor, POUND Pro and have completed the Move It or Lose It FABS Instructor course for exercise for over 60s.
I believe that to be successful with exercise, your head has to be ready before your body, which is why it is called “Willing Spirit ”If you had told me at the beginning of 2010 that I would become a qualified personal trainer I would have laughed. I had a body mass index of 36 which is obese, hadn’t done any exercise for years and suffered with joint pain. I didn’t believe I could successfully lose weight and be fit myself. How wrong I was. With the support of friends, family and some great gym instructors I lost the weight and gained a passion for fitness which I now want to share with others. I am healthy size 10 which suits my height and natural build.
In March 2012 I took part in my first 10k charity race and then completed the Bracknell Half Marathon in April in a respectable time of 2 hours 10 minutes. I have also done a 50 mile charity cycle ride and completed a second Bracknell Half Marathon in 2013. And the joint pain I suffered for years … Gone!
I achieved my goal of a healthy lifestyle, and want to encourage others to do the same. If I can do it anyone can. My journey is not over, just more things to reach for. It’s time to live life to the full.
